Falcons starting tailback Michael Turner has drawn solid reviews for his low-centered running style and bursts of speed when he gets to the second level of the defense. He said not to worry about the team's quarterback play. Just give the ball to him, Jerious Norwood and the other running backs and the pressure will be off. "The running back room knows it's on them this year," said Turner, who signed a six-year, $34.5 million contract. "We're going to take care of the quarterback, whoever the starting quarterback may be."

Chargers free agent Turner to Panthers? 2/8/2008 10:50:00 AM
One of the most intriguing potential free agents is San Diego running back Michael Turner, who has excelled as the backup to all-pro LaDainian Tomlinson. Turner fits the big-back mold (5-foot-10, 237 pounds) the Panthers prefer. Signing him probably would mean parting with DeShaun Foster. Turner's asking price could be expensive. It wouldn't be shocking if the Chargers try to keep him, especially since Tomlinson injured his knee in the playoffs.
